Octagonal gazebo roof and floor framing on an elevated deck during construction

Our Remodeling Process in Fairfax, VA

A remodel is like a trip: it helps to know the route before you leave. At Reyes Construction Group every project follows the same eight steps, from your first call and a free in-home visit to permits, construction and a final walk-through with the same person who led your project.

The route

Eight stops from your idea to a finished project

Carrying out a project is remarkably like a journey, and it is important to know the path and the stages it will take. We want to be by your side the whole way, guiding you toward making your project a reality.

The estimate is free and there is no commitment until you sign a contract.

01

Call or write to us

Tell us about the project you have in mind, by phone or through the estimate form, and we will set a time to visit.

02

In-home appointment

We listen to your ideas: what you want to include, what you need and the materials you like. Our representative shares ideas from experience, measures the space, takes notes and looks for any challenges.

03

Your design

You can bring your own design plans based on that conversation, or we can include professional designs for your project for an additional cost.

04

Free written proposal

We explain step by step what will be done, which materials will be used, how much it will cost and how long it will take. It usually takes a couple of weeks, and up to this point there is no commitment.

05

Adjust and sign

Review the proposal and ask for any changes. When we agree, we sign a contract.

06

Plans, permits and selections

Our staff prepares the papers and plans and files for the building permits with your county. Permit times vary by county and how busy it is. Meanwhile we start on cabinets, tile and other parts we can order early, and we show you the options and where to see them in person.

07

Construction

Once the permits are approved, the same person you have worked with leads the project. There will be a little noise and dust, and we work to be considerate of you, your family and your home.

08

Final walk-through

The same person walks the finished project with you. Point out any detail that does not meet your expectations and we correct it until you are completely satisfied.
